Helen Wong, the Director of Clinic Operations of an organization at the USC School of Pharmacy called the PharmSC Clinic, is seeking volunteers to serve as Spanish-English translators for their clinic. PharmSC Clinic is a small clinic located in an independent pharmacy called Botica del Sol in Boyle Heights (2331 East Cesar E Chavez Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90033). They offer hypertension, diabetes, cholesterol, and body fat screenings for zero cost to walk-in participants.
Each clinic session will have a clinic supervisor (a PharmSC board member), 1-2 pharmacy students who will be performing screenings, and hopefully 1 Spanish translator volunteer. Clinic sessions are held on select Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 9:30am-12pm and 1-3:30pm.
This is a great opportunity for observing services that pharmacists and pharmacy students provide, networking, and serving an underserved population in East Los Angeles.
If you are interested, email firstname.lastname@example.org to receive more details. A majority of the participants speak mostly Spanish.
